Beware of email scam

A message from John Brandt Jr., president of The Brandt Group

Mystery shopping is a great opportunity to earn extra money or get a nice meal.  Plus it’s a great way to help improve the customer service in a wide variety of business.  But email scammers are trying to take advantage of its appeal to take your money!  Don’t let it happen to you!

Several foreign Internet scammers recently have used The Brandt Group’s good name and have email address that LOOK LIKE but ARE NOT The Brandt Group email addresses.  All emails coming from The Brandt Group will always look like this (name@thebrandtgroup.com)

The scammer claims to be a representative of The Brandt Group look very legitimate, until you see that you are not responding to a The Brandt Group email address but, instead to a @AOL, @GMAIL, @YAHOO email address.

The scammers are trying to trap potential new mystery shoppers.  The Brandt Group will NEVER send you checks to cash and will never promise you mystery shopping assignments!

Other scammers use The Brandt Group logo on websites or in emails. They are trying to disguise themselves as being legit.  Don’t fall for it!  If you receive an email invitation to become a mystery shopper for someone claiming to be from The Brandt Group, don’t believe it!  We don’t send out random emails to potential new shoppers.

Always look at the email addresses first and web addresses these scammers use.  If you have any questions about whether an email is legitimate or not, please contact The Brandt Group directly by emailing us at shop@thebrandtgroup.com or by calling 888-586-3036.  We are more than happy to help you out.

Never share your personal information with someone you don’t know and NEVER cash a check sent to you in advance of any assignment.  That’s a sure sign the deal is a SCAM.
